ITA is seeking an Analyst to join the team at ITA HQ, Newport News, VA.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Analyst to support the Navy's Mid-Adlantic Regional Maintenace Center ship maintenance data solutions. This position will work closely with a team of software developer and other analysts serve up complex data solutions. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in analytical solutions and demonstarted experience with solving data problems.

  • Serve as part of an agile development team, assisting in the analysis and design of end-to-end data pipelines with automated deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management in a cloud environment for an existing Navy customer.

  • Develop data models and reports, collaborating with software engineers on complex machine learning (ML) and data science scripts and templates.

  • Monitor and assess the performance of data models and code, recommending improvements for more efficient data processing and integration.

  • Develop specifications for efficient and scalable database solutions.

  • Support the integration and modernization of data systems to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

  • Perform application rationalization by analyzing current software portfolios and recommending streamlined solutions.

  • Lead data visualization and dashboard design efforts, ensuring accurate and user-friendly data representation for stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with vendors and IT personnel to identify and resolve issues related to data systems and software performance.

  • Participate in the design and optimization of information and operational support systems, ensuring they meet business and technical needs.

  • Assist with enterprise application development, contributing to data analysis, reporting, and system improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and development standards, contributing to continuous improvement in data policies and procedures.

  • Explore, categorize, and review data, ensuring the cleanliness, transformation, and modeling of data to support decision-making and predictive analysis.

  • Mine, review, and validate data to develop models and data visualizations that provide insights for decision-makers, focusing on predictive analytics and actionable business information

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Data Analytics/Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) with 4 to 10 years of relevant data analytics experience, or a Master’s degree in a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Relevant experience includes professional roles and coursework in foundational data analysis such as:

    • Applied statistics or advanced mathematics
    • Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence
    • Data modeling and analysis
    • Programming methodologies and languages (e.g. Python, SQL)
    • Data structures and algorithms

Perferred Degree:

  • Preferred degress are in Data Science and Mathematics/Statistics

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, R, or other scripting languages
  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Power BI).

  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MongoDB, SQL, PostgreSQL), with a strong understanding of both relational and NoSQL databases.

  • Experience with Agile project management tools, such as Jira, Assembla, or similar.

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket) and data pipelines.

Security Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Experience with data analysis for software engineering or data science projects, especially related to creating complex predictive/statistical models.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of secure data management practices, including handling sensitive data securely.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and Tableau for data visualization.

  • Scripting skills, particularly for data processing tasks (e.g., Python, R, shell scripting).

  • Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time.

  • Ability to conceptualize and present solutions with iteration from team feedback
