ITA is seeking a Senior Operations Analyst to join the team in a remote position in the National Capital Region.  

 

Please note this position is contingent upon position vacancy, expected Spring 2025.

Responsibilities

Join a growing company to support operations analysis modeling and simulation for various government and commercial contracts.  Senior Operations Analyst is responsible for development, training, and implementation of data analytics tools and processes (collection, integration, visualization, analysis). 
 
Candidate will guide efforts to enhance software and analytic products:
  • Develop concepts for technical solutions to support a rapid, software development process
  • Perform analysis on current and projected operations to identify opportunities to improve performance and/or reduce cost
  • Design, develop, and apply a variety of decision analytics, mathematical and statistical techniques, modeling and simulation, and other analytic methods combined with judgment to solve complex operational and planning challenges
  • Develop prototype models/simulations
  • Modify and enhance existing analytic products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve modeling issues
  • Identifying available tools vis-a-vis client data restrictions
  • Participate in model and software development processes
  • Lead concept development, prototyping, testing, validation, and implementation of models/simulations informing decisions regarding operations, cost efficiencies, quality control, system performance, etc.  
  • Assess the problem and identify appropriate analytic method to address it (e.g., Monte Carlo simulation, discrete event simulation, optimization, decision analysis, statistical analysis, etc.) 
  • Develop assessment information, decision briefings, and analytical papers, and facilitate senior leadership decisions
  • Lead analytic efforts and effectively lead small teams of analysts mentoring and assisting in their application of analytical skills across a wide range of disciplines
  • Effectively brief both internal and external stakeholders
  • Model the ITA core values of Quality, Integrity, and Respect

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Management Science. At least ten (10) years of experience in conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques is required; or
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Management Science. At least eight (8) years of experience in conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques is required; or
  • Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Management Science. At least six (6) years of experience in conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques is required.
  • Proficiency in development of decision support tools in desktop/cloud environments (local shared drive, Sharepoint, cloud).
  • Skilled use of MS Excel with Visual Basic for Applications, Power BI, and other MS Office tools to support collaboration and data visualization with globally-distributed stakeholders.
  • Skilled with programming languages, including Java, Python, VBA, C++, or C-
  • Expertise with optimization and simulation analyses 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
