    ITA International (ITA) is a provider of integrated support services to include analysis, planning, training, acquisition management, cyber/intelligence, engineering, logistics, and maritime support services to government, non-governmental organizations and commercial customers worldwide.

     

    ITA is adding an Accountant to our team at Headquarters in Yorktown, VA.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain portions of the general ledger to include the monthly reconciliation of some Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.
    • Prepare moderately complex journal entries for entry into the general ledger as required by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing a sufficient audit trail in support of the journal entries.
    • Manages daily Accounts Payable processes to include:
      • Post Journal Entries as required
      • Processing Employee Expense Reports
      • Purchase Requests
      • Credit Card Transactions
      • Accounts Payable Processing
    • Collects and analyzes financial data and prepares monthly combined financial statements and reports.  Performs additional analysis for explanation as required.
    • Assists the CFO/Controller managing the company’s external auditors at year-end to include schedule preparation and the provision of supporting documentation and procedures.
    • Maintains records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material, updating records as necessary.
    • Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
    • Manages Payroll processes to include:
      • Process biweekly payroll
      • Duties associated with applications and maintenance of multi-state payroll
      • Perform calculations and reconciliation of payroll related accounts such as federal and state withholdings, accruals, fringe benefits, 401(k) etc.
      • Maintain records, file tax reports and voluntary deduction reports
      • Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments
      • Prepare Journal entries associated with ADP payroll into DynNAV accounting system
      • Prepare adhoc reports for management (overtime, leave balances, head count, etc.)
      • Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
      • Understanding of Service Contract Act to include calculation and payment of Health & Welfare benefits

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from accredited university (or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills)
    • Microsoft Dynamic NAV experience strongly preferred, but not required
    • ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred, but not required
    • Above average MS Office skills (particularly Excel)
    • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization (including management, peers and customers) 
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task with an analytical thought process 
    • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and meet strict deadlines
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
    • Excellent problem solving/judgment skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
