ITA International is seeking qualified candidates to join their team at Hurlburt Field, FL an AFSOC Specialized SERE Training Team Lead and Instructor. This position is contingent upon contract award.





Team Lead will, in addition to performing instructor duties, perform the following duties:

  • Provide overall management, supervision, and coordination other contracted instructors assigned to their team.
  • Assure quality control and compliance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and regulations.


  • Will conduct role-play Peacetime Governmental Detention (POD) and Hostage Detention (HD) instruction under Academic Resistance Laboratory (ARL) conditions
  • Will conduct research and develop personalized lesson plans incorporating historical and current examples of escape, evasion, and captivity scenarios in preparation for the delivery of ARL and academic instruction.
  • Will research and maintain familiarization with the operational duties and captivity threats faced by students attending SS39 to adapt course curriculum to ensure relevancy
  • Will perform deliver academic lessons and laboratory instruction in support of SS39, Specialized SERE Training, to include:
  • US Government policy regarding captivity and the Code of Conduct
  • Techniques to resist exploitation
  • Leaving evidence of presence
  • Escape techniques
  • Use of detention statements
  • Capture exploitation methods



Team Lead and AFSOC Specialized SERE Training Instructor shall:

  • Certified to conduct role play POD and HD training under ARL and/or Resistance Training Laboratory (RTL) conditions as defined by CJCSM 3500.10, Joint Manual for SERE Education and Training Role Play Activities in Support of the Code of Conduct (CoC) and Principles of Behavior (PoB).
  • Have a minimum 4 years previous experience as a Resistance Training instructor trainer and supervisor in a JPRA accredited SERE School IAW CJCSM 3500.09, Joint Standards for SERE Education and Training in Support of the CoC and PoB.
  • Have a minimum 2 years previous experience as a Resistance Training Instructors conducting role-play instruction in a JPRA accredited SERE School IAW CJCSM 3500.09, Joint Standards for SERE Education and Training in Support of the CoC and PoB.
  • Be fully qualified to lead or assist in all SS39 training events, as well as conduct Post Training Exercises (PTE), Pre­academic Resistance Laboratory (PREAL), and Hostage Detention Resistance Training Laboratory (HD RTL), in accordance with unit SOPs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Will be physically fit and capable to perform physical pressure during ARL instruction IAW CJCSM 3500.10
  • Will obtain an annual mental health assessment and receive clearance from a DoD psychologist to participate in role play instruction in support of Code of Conduct training
  • Will certify to conduct ARL and academic instruction IAW with AFSOC SERE on-the-job -training (OJT) plan.
  • Possess an active SECRET clearance
  • Associates degree or higher level of education strongly preferred 
  • Travel: 20%
