Overview

ITA currently recruiting for a H M & E Lead for our USCG HQ Washington DC location. 

Responsibilities

The PIB HM&E Lead will support the PIB Technical director and will:

  • Analyze and compare technical deliverables to the technical requirements of the PIB Program and provide recommendations to Government personnel with regard to deliverable compliance.
  • Review technical deliverables pertaining to all HM&E, including the ship’s structure, main propulsion, auxiliary, electrical generation and distribution, and damage control systems, and provide recommendations and inputs to the Government in these areas.
  • Provide engineering support in the analysis of all technical issues and design challenges pertaining to all ship systems.
  • Participate in any meetings or discussions related to technical issues or design challenges, providing technical feedback or recommendations as requested by the Government.
  • Review the input of the SDT during the development of all technical requirements.
  • Support the development of USCG polar icebreaker design standards, specifications and technology assessments, cost estimates and all technical program documentation.
  • Assist with the monitoring of the CDRL and Data Item Description (DID) development support, Polar Technical Standards and System Specification development support, Statement of Work (SOW), and Certification Matrix development support.
  • Maintain a current and complete log of all intended design modifications, listing the primary system, affected systems, potential or named engineering contractors, contractors’ points of contact, U.S. Navy Participating Acquisition Resource Managers (PARMs)/Servicing Agencies information, intended installation windows, hull applicability and maximum equipment lead times.
  • Provide technical support to and liaison with the SDT in the development of the PIB System Specification, which will include individual Specification Sections, Project Peculiar Documents (PPDs) and classification society inputs

Qualifications

 HM&E Lead must:

  • Have 3 to 10 years of experience and a BA/BS or MA/MS degree 

In addition, all personnel must:

 

 

  • Be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and MS Outlook and other software/tools provided on the Coast Guard Standard Workstation and provided for a specific position
  • Have a minimum of at least 1 year demonstrated experience with shipbuilding acquisitions
  • Have a minimum of at least 1 year demonstrated experience supporting a major system acquisition program (DHS/USCG Level I, DoD ACAT I or equivalent)
  • Secret Clearance
