ITA is currently recruiting a Building Manager to provide facility support services to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) performed at Government facilities located in Norfolk and Portsmouth Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Provide building management support for MARMC buildings; Building management support shall include, but is not limited to, building planning, management, and advising on all activities, including maintenance, repair, and property accountability. 
  • Shall apply ingenuity and effectiveness in assisting the Government in developing the most efficient and effective program for optimum utilization of space.
  • Coordinate immediate responses with other specialized service organizations to provide work and service as needed for individual problems and/or normal execution of short and long-range goals and milestones.
  • Assist in coordinating with NAVFAC and service providers on all matters pertaining to securing repairs and maintenance services, to include improvements to the facility, grounds, and equipment.
  • Rearrange equipment, relocation of personnel, and introducing new equipment. Provide advice and assistance relative to space utilization, environment control, fire prevention, and energy conservation.
  • Manage reserved parking areas for executive parking, official vehicles, handicapped employees, visitors, and car pool/van pool parking in accordance with federal regulations.
  • Coordinate the overall general/routine maintenance of all MARMC buildings to include, but not limited to such tasks as moving, setting up modular office cubes and furniture; changing air filters and light bulbs; preparing buildings and grounds for heavy weather (i.e., sandbagging, salting walkways); returning buildings and grounds to functional capability after heavy/destructive weather (i.e., snow removal, etc.).
  • Assist in development of a MILCON application for an additional building; knowledge of facility repair and modernization is an essential component to this position. Previous MILCON experience desired. This will require working closely with NAVFAC
  • Maintain database of zone inspection, coordinate and follow-up on corrective actions, and initiate associated reports.
  • Install, modify, repair, maintain troubleshoot, test and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. The extent of which will be within routine maintenance of facilities and excludes that which would be considered capital projects and construction.
  • Work from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing, placement type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment and controls. They must have knowledge of the various gauges, sizes, and types of wire, conduit, couplings, fittings, relays, boxes, circuit breakers, and other electrical devices, and the ability to arrange and install them in ways that insure proper and safe operation of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Interpret and apply the National Electrical Code, local codes, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings, and to use trade formulas to calculate common properties, e.g., voltage, voltage drop and current capability in series and parallel circuits, resistance, inductance, capacitance, power factor, current flow, and temperature, and length in single and multiple raceways, conduits, gutters, and cable trays.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen
  • DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • High School graduate or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have skill in the use of hand and power tools
  • Shall have a minimum of two (2) years specialized experience applicable to the task and sub-tasks specified for which they are to perform.
  • Have a working knowledge of building plans, engineering drawings, mechanical and technical schematics.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, carry and pull up to 50 lbs. of equipment or supplies
